Last week, a new e-reader called, Kobo, debuted at an event in Las Vegas and it has many people buzzing about its potential. The Kobo e-reader is similar to several other e-readers on the market with its 6-inch E Ink screen, one GB of memory, Bluetooth connectivity, and lack of Wi-Fi or 3G. What is different about Kobo is that it is significantly cheaper than other devices but still offers access to an e-book store with over two million titles. In addition, Kobo has a device neutral platform so consumers can sync their purchases across iPad, iPhone, Blackberry, webOS, and Android devices, as well as Windows and Mac computers. The device is expected to go on sale in May at Indigo Books & Music in Canada and in June at Borders stores.
